the main salon. As you can see, the pressure of the mast is distributed
across only 3 floors and the floors don't even connect to the stringers!

This photo was taken from inside the boat - looking
forward. Here is the finished step with floors added ahead and behind the
mast. The naval architect said it was strong enough for a 70' sailboat.
